Olympus is on the rise and handing out the winnings!
Play’n GO are behind this Demi-God of a video slot called Rise of Olympus, and it shows. Featuring their recognisable speciality, the cascading grid, which has featured across their other successful games - Reactoonz, Moon Princess, Viking Runecraft, Cloud Quest, and Gemix to name but a few. However, in order to keep this winning formula flying, they tend to be making these slots look and feel very similar to each other, which can have mixed reactions from players.
For fans of the tried and tested Play’n GO mechanics this one’s a winner, it’s also a lot manlier - if that helps - with muscular Greeks Gods adorning this slot from top to bottom. The visuals are good, and it really makes you see the slot in a favourable light, even though many players will easily spot that this game is a clone of Moon Princess.
The slot has a 5x5 grid system that works seamlessly across your devices, as we have come to expect from Play’n GO. The RTP is 96.5%, which is the default value we run it at, as it’s a fair rate.
What symbols to look out for
Considering the theme, the symbols are those you might expect: bolts, tridents, helmets and harps for the standard value icons, and three high-value symbols of Greek Gods Hades, Poseidon and Zeus, who are also undoubtedly the main stars of this video slot. The one to watch out for though is the ‘wild’, bringing with it a 50x-your-take payout when you get five across the payline.
Get three or more symbols either way across the reels for payouts, because of the cascading nature of the slot the symbols drop into the grid to make the winning lines. It’s at this point the wild symbol can appear, increasing the multiplier until the winning combinations run out, ultimately resetting the multiplier – hopefully after some nice wins!
Key features in the Rise of Olympus game
Hand of God
This feature can trigger at random, and it doesn’t have to be a winning spin either! You could get any one of the three Gods, all of whom have their own special abilities. Hades transforms symbols, Poseidon can add up to 2 wilds, and Zeus will destroy two sets of any symbol.
Wrath of Olympus
A fully charged meter will activate this feature, and its repeatable up to twenty times. Land on the five-of-a-kind winning combo with any God symbol to start a routine where all three Gods add their superpowers to the grid, making free spins more likely.
These are activated by sweeping away all but the wild symbols, then choosing one of the three Gods and options based on their abilities or powers. It’s a neat way of accumulating wilds on losing spins! The multiplier doesn’t reset, carrying on to 20x your stake; clear the grid completely for 100x your stake in winnings. Gods all carry different levels of volatility and in turn the opportunity to takes risks for bigger and better wins!
We love the design and mechanics of this game, and although Play’n go are upfront about its similarities to Moon Princess we don’t really care, because they’re both fantastic games to play.
The game is as popular as ever and has great feedback on the forums, as do most of Play’n Go’s offerings to be honest. So, whatever your preferences might be game wise, we certainly recommend trying this one out – see if you can beat some of the record wins this and its sister games have paid out with us recently.
