Rules
Before playing the game, you should first learn the basic rules of Caribbean Stud Poker. It doesn’t have complicated mechanics, so it’s easy to remember! Here are the rules of Caribbean Stud Poker:
- If the bank lacks A-K or better, then the players’ ante and call bet will be returned. The call bet is a raise wager that’s placed when the player decides to ‘raise.’
- The player wins if their hand beats the bank’s.
- The ante and call bet are both lost if the bank has A-K or better and the bank’s hand is better than the player’s.
- The round is considered a ‘push’ if the player and bank’s hands result in a tie. In this case, the ante and call bet will be returned to the player.
If the player raises, they must make a call bet that’s equal or twice the ante bet.

- Place your bets fast before the timer runs out and the dealer announces ‘no more bets.’
- After the bets are placed, you will be dealt with 5 cards.
- Once you have all the cards, the dealer will reveal his first card. Keep in mind that discussing hands is not allowed.
- After seeing the dealer’s card, take a look at your five cards.
- You have the option to ‘play’ or ‘fold.’ Once you’ve seen your cards, you can double your ante or fold the hand. To fold is when you decide to forfeit your cards, ante bet, and side bet.

Caribbean Stud Poker strategies
In Caribbean Stud Poker, you only need to decide whether to continue the game or give up. If you’re the kind of player who wants to win with all their might, then learning the strategies below is a perfect way to step up your game!
Here are some of the most used strategies of Caribbean Stud Poker players:
- Always make the bet if you have a pair or better.
- If you have an Ace, King and a card that matches the dealer’s card, always remember to make the bet.
- Make a bet whenever any of your cards match the dealer’s and if you have either an Ace, King, and Queen, or Ace, King, and Jack.
- If you have a set of Ace, King, and Queen, along with two other number cards, always make the bet if one or both of the number cards is higher than the dealer’s. If it is, always make the bet.
- If none of the above occurs, then you should fold.
- Always raise when one of your cards matches the dealer’s cards from 2 to Queen. Raise again if the dealer’s card is lower than your 4th highest card and if you have a Queen. Additionally, always raise when the dealer has an Ace or King and you have a Queen or Jack.
- If you’re new to the game, avoid folding small pairs. Just keep the low cards as you play the game. In addition, it’s better to fold if you have weak hands that lack an Ace or a King.
- If you’re playing advanced Caribbean Stud Poker, you should call if the dealer’s hand consists of 2 to 9, J, Q, K, and matches one of your cards.
- Fold your hand if you don’t have at least one high card.
