Rise of Merlin Details

Rise of Merlin is a five-reel, ten payline slot from Play ‘N Go that has a magic-theme and is all about the Free Spins feature where unlimited free spins can be won – there’s also a special expanding icon that takes over the reels should it appear.

Playing Rise of Merlin
Designwise, the Rise of Merlin is rather solid – with the wizard’s chamber in the background, the icons on the reels will include an Ace, King, Queen, Jack and ten card values. Players will also notice owls, two dragons and Merlin the wizard himself. Merlin is the most rewarding icon by some distance giving players 1, 10, 100 or 500 times their bet stake should they land two, three, four or five across a payline.

The mysterious crystal ball acts as both the games wild and scatter symbol, similar to Merlin, players landing five on a payline will reward themselves with 500 times their bet staked. Should players land three or more wild/scatter symbols, they will activate the Free Spins round – eight free spins will be their reward.

Symbols

There are 10 different symbols available in the game. The regular paying symbols are classic high cards: 10, Jack (J), Queen (Q), King (K) and Ace (A) icons. Each symbol has its own winning combinations with different payouts:

There are also high paying icons available in the game: The Owl, White Dragon, Red Dragon, and Merlin himself. Each of these symbols has its own winning combinations:

Merlin’s Enchanted Reels and Paylines

There are 5 reels and 10 paylines that can be activated. The lines are numbered and always activated in numerical order.

The Magic Ball symbol works as both Wild and Scatter icons.

When the magic ball acts as a wild icon, it can replace any icon so you can get winning combinations. When the book acts as a scatter icon, 3 or more books that appear on any reel can result in the following:

Getting 3 or more Magic Balls also means that you are rewarded with 8 free spins.

Any of the regular-paying symbols are randomly chosen to act as a special icon during your free spin round. After the prize for regular winning combinations has been revealed, the special icon expands to cover all three positions on its reel. The special icon expands so you get additional prizes on active paylines for winning combinations. Expanded icons do not need to appear next to each other for a winning combination.

Merlin’s Rising Bonuses

Free Spins

You can win free spins by getting 3 or more of the Crystal Ball Scatters. With it, you'll be rewarded with 8 ways to maximise your return on one randomly selected special icon. You’ll see the icon before the free spins begin. This icon also works as a scatter symbol.

Gambling Option

You can also get a Gambling option for you to have a chance to multiply the total prize on any spin in the main game. You just have to guess the colour or suit of a hidden card. Guessing the right colour doubles your winnings and the right suit quadruples them.

In the bet settings below, you can specify the following:

• The number of lines you wish to activate per round.
• The number of coins you wish to bet per active line.
• The coin denomination used.

To start the round, click spin. When the reels stop, the icons displayed determine your prize according to the paytable.

Rise of Merlin’s Magical Design

There is one word to describe Rise of Merlin’s design, ‘spellbinding’! The artwork is magnificent as it gets its inspiration from Merlin’s adventures. The music is quite exquisite as well as you can feel the majesty it wants to portray Rise of Merlin. The backdrop has done its job to make you feel enchanted while playing this wonderful game. Performance and animation design work very well.

Rise of Merlin Words of Wisdom

The overall gameplay experience has been fascinating as you can be loyally hooked with game. Who knows, maybe Play’N Go has been secretly been working with Merlin himself when they were ‘conjuring’ this awesome game.

If you like powerful dragons and enchanted worlds then Rise of Merlin along with Dragon Maiden and Tower Quest are the games you can look forward to.
