Powered by Red Tiger Gaming, Reactor is a futuristic-looking theme containing five reels and twenty paylines. As with most Red Tiger offerings it comes with plenty of respins, wilds, multipliers and symbol upgrades.
The audio and graphics in Reactor are nicely done, with the gameplay taking place in a spaceship's reactor. On the reels themselves, players will notice four brightly coloured crystals with four higher-value machine parts. The top paying machine part is the yellow and green cross that pays out twenty times a player's bet stake should they land five on any active payline. Because Reactor can form wins from right to left and vice versa, players can create winning combinations from either the first or fifth reel.
The wild icon in Reactor is the ball of electrical energy, and this substitutes all other symbols except the battery. The wild icon grants players twenty-five times their bet stake should they land five on a payline. Fundamental to the best action in Reactor is the battery symbol. The more of these players can land on the same turn, the better the respin extras on offer in the game's respin feature:
One Battery = 1 respin
Two Batteries = 1 respin with the Swap Symbols feature – random symbols convert into higher-paying ones
Three Batteries = 1 respin with the Swap Symbols, and Random Wilds features – plus all of the above, random wilds are supplemented
Four Batteries = 1 respin with the Swap Symbols, Random Wilds & Mega Wild features – plus all of the above, a mega wild (that is 2×2 or 3×3 in size) is attached to the reels
Five Batteries = 1 respins with Swap Symbols, Random Wilds & Mega Wild and Random Multiplier features – plus all of the features mentioned above, a multiplier of up to x10 is applied to players winnings
Reactor is a simplistic game but overall, a thoroughly enjoyable one. The impressive graphics are top notch, and the electro audios provide the game with a suitably space-age feel. The gameplay really triggers into life when players land a respin, ideally with more than one of the triggering batteries.
The extras on offer from the batteries during a respin are what really makes this game stand out from others. As you’d expect given the space-age reactor theme, Reactor is a volatile slot. There’ll be periods when the bankroll will be destroyed in a few spins. Yet landing multiple batteries on the same turn and players will notice the wins are explosive!
