Endorphina Gaming get a bit naughty with their new offering called Taboo. The theme is centred around the phenomenon of BDSM, but if you’re hoping for a tit-fest, think again, as it’s pretty safe by anyone’s standards. The kinkiness lends itself well to the theme, and it makes for an entertaining slot.
Presented over a 5x3 setup with 25 paylines, this cheeky slot rolls in with an RTP of 96% which is standard too. The graphics and sounds border on the comical, but that might just be down to individual reactions to any attempt at innuendo. There’s a very nice bonus feature that makes this game worth playing.
Looks a bit raunchy
Kinky backdrops, whips, handcuffs, leather and striking red high heels adorn the reels, with some nice animations bringing the icons to life. There’s a good set of features here, including basic symbols, a scatter, a wild symbol, a bonus symbol and a prize round. You’ll find two different bonus games, coming in as a bonus picker and a bonus wheel.
The wild in the game is a picture of two red pillows with black rims, cheesy but on brand. It will appear over the middle three reels only and substitute all other symbols to form wins, except the bonus. The scatter can be substituted and comes in the form of those red-bottomed high heels. It can appear over all reels and will bring you 1250x, 250x and 50x your stake for 5, 4 and 3 of a kind respectively. It’ll also activate the ‘Triskele’ wheel game’.
The bonus with two sides
Looking a little out of place to be honest, the bonus symbol is a metallic yin-yang type symbol with three sections to it instead of the usual two. Get three of these across the reels to activate the Taboo bonus feature.
The bonus is divided up into two levels. Firstly, you’ll get taken to the Triskele wheel game, then if you land the bonus spots, you’ll advance to the Red Room for extra payouts, some of which can be sizeable.
We have to say that although Taboo is a decent slot, it really is an acquired taste. It is of course great fun, but the theme can be a little too much and a bit grating at times. Snowflakes aren’t we! Overall though, it’s exciting and fresh feeling, with a nice set of graphics, bonus features and expanding wilds.
