Powered by GameArt and featuring five reels and ten paylines, Dragon Lady is a video slot with a fantasy theme. This slot is inspired by the medieval ages when knights were rulers of their lands. The slot comprises everything from crystal balls, and treasure chests to knights, dragons and spell books.
Famous themes of the fantasy genre include Game of Thrones, Dungeons and Dragons, Lord of the Rings and even Harry Potter. Gaming companies have attempted to lock in these fans and offer games to entice them to play.
This means game providers have to try that bit harder to be able to compete with similar games from rival providers. Sadly, Dragon Lady is not one of those games that entice players.
First of all, there are no dragons per se! There’s a female lead character, decked in an ornate (almost Spartan-like) helmet like she’s ready to slay a dragon, but there doesn’t seem to be a dragon to battle!
How to play Dragon Lady
Before players begin to wave their swords and start fighting, they should adjust their game's settings first.
Clicking on "Bet Increment," players will be able to set the coin denomination range.
Hitting "Autoplay", the reels will turn without interruption for a chosen number of times.
"Spin" will begin to spin the reels, but only once.
Pressing the "Gamble" button will start the gamble feature after the win.
Clicking "Take" will collect the win players have landed.
Symbols in Dragon Lady
Dragon Lady is the Wild symbol in the game, and it replaces all the icons except for the games' scatter symbol. This Wild triggers the re-spin feature when it appears to cover the entire reel. The symbol appears only on the second, third and fourth reel.
During the re-spin feature, the wild reel or reels will be held and all the others will re-spin once with additional stacked symbols. Only during the re-spin round, all wins will pay both ways – either left to right and right to left.
The Crystal Ball acts as the Scatter symbol, and should players land two of them, they will receive twenty-five credits. The Crystal Ball also triggers the Free Spins, and it only shows on the first and fifth reels. Once triggered, players will get fifteen Free Spins. Although players should note the free spins cannot be re-triggered.
Dragon Lady does have a gamble round where players can attempt to double their wins after any winning combination. All players must do is speculate which colour card will be drawn next. A correct guess will double players win, and the wrong one will forfeit the winnings, and players will be returned to the primary game.
The plot of Dragon Lady makes little sense, and the visuals are nothing particularly special. The game is straightforward enough, yet there is little in the gameplay to really entertain and retain players.
Fantasy and magic themes are often overused have been conceived in every possible way to produce dozens of online slot games. Newer games then must be so much better to really stand out. Dragon Lady, sadly, is not one of these games and gamers will feel underwhelmed with the theme from the beginning, and further disappointed by the average offering it is.
