In the burning sands of the endless, pitiless desert, lies the sacred temple of the Boy King, the “Living Image of Aten”, Tutankhamun. Join the brave archeologists in their quest for the great discovery, and discover the fabulous riches hidden in the tomb of the young pharaoh. This is a review of “Tempe of Tut” video slot by Just For The Win studio, powered by Microgaming.
Tutankhamun, better known in popular culture as “King Tut”, was the pharaoh that ruled Egypt in approximately 1332–1323 BC. His tomb was discovered in 1922 by a British archaeologist Howard Carter and was a sensation. The tomb was also intact, and the treasure that it contained was immensely valuable both in terms of money and, first of all, in terms of its cultural and historical significance.
Together with the hoard, as it often happens, came a curse. The people who excavated the tomb died mysteriously before their time (or so the papers would claim). A later study actually revealed that only 8 people out of those 58 who witnessed the opening of the tomb died within 12 years of the event. However, the legend of the “curse of the pharaohs” became popular. The story of the vindictive mummy that punishes those who have disturbed its peace has been told in uncountable books, movies, and, later, in video games.
“Temple of Tut” is a 5-reel, 3-row video slot with ten lines that pay both ways and an RTP of 96,01%. Minimum bet is EUR 0.1, the default is EUR 0.5, and you can go all the way to the maximum bet of EUR 250. In this adventure, the maximum possible payout you can achieve is EUR 309,750 (1239x your bet).
The lower-paying symbols are the precious Statuette adorned with a large gem, the Ankh (symbol of life), the Eye of Horus (symbol of protection and royal power), and an image of Horus the Falcon (the god of the sky, patron of kings). The higher-paying symbols are the portraits of the three brave archeologists, and the Wild symbol is the priceless Mask of Tutankhamun. The Wilds can only appear on the Super Reels and will substitute for any other symbol except for the Free Spins one.
The Super Reels can randomly appear at any time during the main game. What Super Reels have in store for you is all the usual symbols plus 50% stacked Wilds.
The Temple of Tut symbols trigger the Free Spins Game once 3, 4 or 5 of them land on your reels. Depending on the number of the triggering symbols, you get 8, 15 or 30 Free Spins respectively. And that’s not all: the Super Reel feature is going to be active during every one of your free spins. This feature can also be retriggered if 2, 3, 4 or 5 “Temple of Tut” symbols appear. In this case, you are awarded 2, 8, 15 or 30 additional Free Spins.
The last bet that you have placed is going to be used as the bet amount for the Free Spins game.
“Temple of Tut” is, essentially, all about the Free Spins. While the base game is simple and moderately rewarding, the Free Spins is where you can actually obtain a handsome reward in a short time.
The Free Spins feature is generous: it activates the Super Reels feature for every spin and allows you to retrigger it so that the Free Spins number can be doubled.
There are some generous wins to be looking forward to, such as the Big Win which is 15x your bet, Mega Win (30x your bet), Just For The Win (60x your bet), and the massive Epic Win which pays 90x time the wager.
The game has simple, clean gameplay, a well-drawn interface, and a nice, fat jackpot to be looking forward to.
