Microgaming’s latest offering cleary takes its inspiration from Charlie’s Angels , and that's fine because the original TV series was pretty cool. Girls with Guns introduces a larger group of six, ramping up the action to bring you a Central American adventure set in a hot and humid location the girls obviously have to sex it up with skimpy gear, nice to see the gaming industry is tackling the misogyny problem.
Presented over a 5 x 3 setup with the boosted 243 paylines, something we’re seeing much more of with Microgaming especially, this sex(y/ist - delete as appropriate) slot sports some seriously good graphics - even the greenery in the background sways in the wind, that’s pretty detailed stuff.
Characters each have a short film that’s attached to their ‘profile’, helping you out with what would normally be buried in the paytable. Let us introduce Jess (infiltrator), Zoe (tactical), Alex (demolition), Kira (sniper), Maria (artillery) and Katherine (leader) who appear as the high value symbols, with other symbols including a well-guarded house, some guards and a drug lord. Game logo is the wild here, with a special wild for the third reel and the scatter comes in the form of a heart-shaped hand grenade - too cute.
There must be a bonus to all this?
This bonus game can be triggered by landing three or more of the grenade scatter symbols and for that you’ll receive 15 free spins. The good bit is that on each spin, one of the reels turns into an expanding wild featuring a short clip of the girl in question brandishing her weapon. The spins can be re-triggered by landing three more scatter symbols during the bonus round.
The Girls With Guns wild is stacked on all reels which means it can cover all or part of the symbols on one reel, offering more chances to create winning combos.
The special wild is a silhouette of the girls which only appears on reel three in normal gameplay; if it does it expands to make all symbols on that reel wild.
243 Ways To Win*
There are so many ways to win in this online slot machine because it dispenses with paylines and winning combos can be created as long the symbols are in adjacent reels.

Apart from us getting all New York Times on your ass at the beginning, we really liked Girls with Guns. In fact there isn’t a lot not to like. Graphics are insanely good, soundtrack surprisingly palatable, arresting even, and the easy to trigger bonus features make it all worthwhile.
Microgaming are not the only ones in the industry who haven’t quite caught up with the rest of the modern world where images of women are concerned, but sex sells, statistically you’re probably male, can you blame them? I mean, it’s a great slot.
