Oriental Fortune is a five-reel slot with three rows and only five paylines. Powered by Microgaming, it is one of the older-looking video slot games, and with no features, it is a game for purists and not for those who need significant winning features.
The reels are very basic, and there is even no backdrop with the game’s theme being identified by the Chinese audio and symbols that accompany the gameplay.
The reels do take up most of the screen with the icons being pretty large. There are formed of letter slots, that have an Asian styled font to them, whilst other icons directly reference Chinese-Asian culture.
Players can even see the wise and powerful dragon make an appearance, appearing alongside a fish that is typically used in symbolism for Asian stories - a Koi carp. A golden dragon statue and a kimono girl with flowers in her hair make up the higher-paying symbols.
Other icons apart from the golden dragon and the kimono girl include a blue-hued image of a temple, a red and green dragon and the Oriental Fortune logo. The latter is the highest paying symbol and is worth x5000 a player’s line stake for landing five on any active payline. The Ten, Jack, Queen and King form the lower value symbols.
The Geisha girl with the kimono acts as the game’s wild symbol, and she replaces all other icons – there is no scatter symbol, and there are no extra features to trigger.
Oriental Fortune is a charmingly extraordinary video slot game, with enjoyable gameplay and a pleasant gaming atmosphere. Oriental Fortune moves away from the limelight and the usual rush to focus more on delivering a purist yet entertaining experience.
The theme in Oriental Fortune is implemented to perfection and executes flawlessly. If players want to see what Asian culture would be like and get a taste of another world aside from their own, then this is the perfect video slot for you.
