Once again the Eastern theme crops up in Aristocrat Leisure’s online slot, and we’re really not complaining. Anyone used to getting behind the reels will know that it’s one of the top themes, for good reason: it’s fun and mystical to us Westerners and comforting and homely to those from the East. Geisha HD here is yet another, but as with many of the later Eastern games, does it bring a little something special to the table?
Presented over the now traditional 5 x 3 setup with a handsome 25 paylines, the slot takes us over the the serene landscape of rural Japan. A traditional Japanese house overlooking stunning scenery which includes a lake and distant mountains sets the scene, with the main character, Geisha ever present in the top left area of the game’s screen.
The symbols have it, the symbols have it
The symbols are what you might expect from a game set in Japan, these include the landmark that is Mount Fuji, along with a hand fan, a cormorant or seagull of some kind, a golden flower and a dragon’s head.
The wild here is a depiction of the lady herself, the Geisha, and is worth a mighty 9000x the line stake for five on an active payline. The wild will also double any wins it helps to build, and does so by substituting all other symbols except for the scatter, as has become the standard amongst these games. The aforementioned scatter is a depiction of a wooden structure set in water, and has a red hue.
Land three of more of the wooden structured scatter symbol anywhere across the reels to trigger the free spins feature and start out with a tidy 15 spins as standard. Wins are tripled during free spins, and the feature itself can be triggered to infinity should you keep landing the scatters required to do so.
Always a dangerous addition to any slot game, especially for those of us who love a flutter. You can gamble any win after it drops, simply hit the gamble button below the reels.
Coming in the form of a draw, you can attempt to double or quadruple your win by guessing the colour or suit of the card that follows. This feature is capped at five correct guesses, or a cash total of approximately 500,000 EUR or equivalent - so not a bad limit really!
Although a little rudimentary on the graphics side of things, Geisha HD is a crackin’ little game. Because let’s face it, it’s all about the wins. Here the win’s are potentially colossal, and there’s nothing like the equivalent of half a million euros to make sketchy graphics irrelevant - plus the animations are okay. Those wins do come, as with an RTP of 94.88% you will get your chances. Worth your time for sure.
