In Hinduism, the Goddess Durga is the mother of the universe. As the legend goes, Durga is an eight-armed deity that rides a lion and protects the harmony of the world by battling demons.
In the Endorphina powered Durga video slot, players will view the goddess wielding her armoury of a conch shell, a lotus and a Sudarshana-Chakra to ward off the Mahisha devil, along with peaceful sitar music and Sanskrit chants.
How to play Durga
The divine icons in Durga are scattered across five reels and four rows, and there are forty paylines on which players can play. To give players increased chances of winning, Durga also has expanding wild symbols and three types of free spins rounds plus a gamble round that can double wins.
Once players commence betting, they will need to line up three, four, or five symbols on any active payline to receive a win, wins are accumulated from a left to right direction on the reels. All winning combinations triggered by the main symbols are multiplied by players bet per line. Players should note that any wins triggered by scatter symbols are excluded.
The highest-paying symbols in Durga are the goddess' puja bell and the Sudarshana Chakra that pay out if players land three or more of the same icons. Landing five will bestow players a whopping 1,000 to 2,500 times a staked bet. Players who manage to collect three of the devil scatter symbols will receive a 2,000x pay-out. Smaller payouts are won by landing the shell, lotus, King and Ace symbols for obtaining three or more of them. Naturally, the more players land, the higher the payouts. The remaining lower-valued cards are Nine, Ten, Jack and Queen.
The devil icon triggers a free spins round when players collect three of them in addition to providing a lucrative payout. Durga has four types of free spins rounds players can select from, each offering a varying number of spins alongside a different multiplier. The number of free spins players can win are 7, 11, 16 and 29 and come with multipliers of x1, x2, x3 or x5 respectively.
Bonus features of Durga
The free spins can be re-triggered during the bonus rounds, and even further boosted should players wish to double up using the gamble round. The gamble feature is where players must correctly guess the colour of the next drawn card (black/red) and if they do guess correctly, will double their winnings. If players can go one better and guess the exact suit, they will quadruple their bet size. A wrong guess though will forfeit their winnings.
The lion of Durga is another invaluable symbol in the game that acts as a wild that replaces any icon except the scatter and adds multipliers of x2 or x3 to any winning it combination it helps to create. The lion appears on the second, third or fourth reel and expands across the reels to improve players payouts. When this occurs, players will see Durga riding the beast and handling her legendary weapons on the screen.
Despite its niche theme, Durga isn't merely a game that only Hindu punters will find enticing. Taking aside its lively visuals, Durga has a high-paying paytable, a gamble feature that can double or quadruple players wins multiple times, plus several free spins rounds packed with multipliers to help players win greater payouts. These extras make Durga a slot that has something to offer to any type of better.
