For some, rabbits are the very symbol of luck and prosperity, for others, they’re a bloody nuisance. In the online gaming world they seem to have established themselves as the former, and therefore are welcomed and revered. Jumpin’ Rabbit from 2by2 Gaming looks to capitalise on the trend of seeing these fluffy little munchkins as lucky charms, but as we found out, there’s more to a successful video slot than the theme.
Presented over the standard 5 x 3 setup with a decent 30 paylines, this cute, friendly and downright entertaining slot game could be just the game for you. I mean, who doesn’t love seeing sweet, fluffy rabbits jumping out of planes? If you think about it, you could say it even has something for those who hate rabbits - if you pretend there are no parachutes, ok, long shot.
As our furry friends touch down in luscious green fields we can really appreciate the imagination that has gone into such an extravagant theme. Play the game from between 0.35 EUR and 160 EUR or equivalent for your chance to trigger fantastic features, such as a wild-laden free spins round.
It’s a sign, or is it a symbol?
There is a nice range of theme related symbols here, including a windsock, a bunch of carrots, some flying goggles, a small aeroplane and the Jumpin’ Rabbit logo. The logo is the one to watch as it’s your best bet for big wins, coming in at 500x your stake if you get five of these bad-boys over an active payline.
Lower value symbols follow the tried and trusted playing card icons, a favourite for the lower end across the slot gaming industry; here you’ll find J, Q, K and Aces across the reels. It might be worth adding that these symbols are often overlooked in their importance, but often provide the steam players need for getting to those really big wins, by allowing the game to continue in or just under profit.
The wild symbol in this game can be found in the form of a yellow-hatted rabbit, plummeting through the air, parachute poised for landing. His sidekick in an orange hat is also an important link in the chain to bag big wins. These wilds can appear stacked, meaning that you might be able to fill an entire reel with wilds, thus contributing to payline wins all the more easily.
The bonus of dealing with rabbits
We say bonus because there is only the one. Coming at you in the form of free spins, the feature that is like Marmite to gamers, you either love them or hate them. There is really no reason to hate them though, as they contribute to some nice payouts in the long run.
Triggered by getting the free spins scatter across reels 2, 3 and 4, and giving you 10 free spins and an additional set of reels to use them on, laden with extra wild rabbit symbols. One of the most disappointing things about this feature is that it can’t be re-triggered from within this feature, only back on the reels of the base game.
Jumpin' Rabbit is upbeat and a fair bit of fun actually. The soundtrack tends to be on the bearable side, which as we know is unusual for most slots these days. It also cheerful, playful and serious when it needs to be 0 but very rarely. As well done as it is, we’d maybe have liked to see a tiny bit more vision and personality within the game, we know 2by2 can be better. Variance is low, which is great if you are after a torrent of smaller wins. High-rollers might be looking elsewhere after just a few minutes though, definitely worth acknowledging.
