eSports' rise to the top has seen many make thousands from streaming and content creation. However, what about the people who compete in the World Championships - how much is on stake and how easy would it be to fill their boots?

  • Dota 2 Players have a 0.004697% chance to make it into The International

  • PUBG is the most difficult game with a 0.000024% chance to make the Global International

  • Players only have a 0.000036% chance to make it to the Fornite Solo World Championship, but once there, a 1% chance to take home the $3m prize.

The total purse for Dota 2s The International in 2021 was $40m USD, with the winning team taking home a grand total of $18,208,300.00. But how easy would it be to make top dollar?

Bitcasino.io has had a look at the probability of winning big at the top eSports to determine which is the ‘easiest’ to get rich from based on the average worldwide players and how many spots in their top competition are available.

For players of Dota 2, they may be eager to know that it is one of the ‘easiest’ in terms of making it big based on how many competitors you would have to beat to get to the top.

With a probability of 0.0046% to make it into The International, where the total purse in 2021 was $40m USD, Dota2 tops our list.

But how do you get there?

“Practice, practice, practice” is the advice Evil Geniuses’ General Manager Andrew Barton gave Bitcasino.io. Barton added that to make it to the top you have to climb “the highest you can in a public leaderboard” and show a “consistent year on year performance by achieving high placements in your solo queue practice.”

While aspirational players of Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds will probably want to ignore the fact that  making a living from winning tournaments is the least achievable.

With an average of over 500 million players across the globe, if each player wished to attempt to make millions from the PUBG tournament, they would have a 0.000024% chance of even making it.

Once there, their chance to win the top prize of $1.2 million (which would be shared amongst the team of 4) would be 3.13%

“Games with higher mechanical ceilings, like Fortnite and League of Legends tend to have large skill disparities.” explained Barton, showing just why the popular games are the hardest to reach.

Fortnite has one of the highest amounts of prize money for the winners at $3m USD, but one of the lowest chances of making it to their solo tournament. With over 270m players worldwide, it makes the chance to make it at 0.000036%.
